The Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) allows willing Australian employers to sponsor suitably skilled foreign workers to live and work permanently in Australia. This visa must be applied for and received within six months of the nomination date. The applicant can be in or out of Australia when submitting this application; however, applicants from Australia must have a substantive or bridging visa A, B, or C. You will be given Permanent Residence until this approval is granted.
The Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) is divided into three (3) categories:
Applicants in the DE stream must have an MLTSSL-listed occupation and a positive skill assessment in that occupation before applying. A minimum of three years of professional work experience is required. In order to be considered for the DE stream, Applicants must be under the age of 45.
This visa enables skilled workers to live and work indefinitely in Australia after being nominated by their employer. Applicants who held a Temporary Work (Skilled) visa Subclass 457 with the nominating employer may apply for Permanent Residence via the Temporary Residence Transition stream.
The Labor Agreement stream is for candidates who have been nominated by an employer who has entered into a Labour Agreement with the Australian Government that has been signed and decided upon. This visa allows skilled workers who have been nominated by their employer to live and work permanently in Australia.
